Where management is mainly related to the exploitation of all material and human potentials that run the organization’s affairs to identify productive capacities and work to improve the quality of services provided.

What is Management?

management is based on the organization’s main goal that it seeks to implement through the available capabilities at all levels

It is a business implementation tool that includes the functions of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling according to the administrative and organizational structure of the organization in addition to urging and motivating others to implement the planned works

What are the functions of management?

There are four main functions of management (planning, organizing, directing, and controlling)

Planning

Planning is the basis of the management process, as it focuses mainly on determining the goals of the organization and its ways to achieve them through the exploitation of available resources whether internal or external.

the manager determines the desired results and relies on his experience and skills in studying the current situation and drawing a business itinerary to achieve the desired goals

organizing

the enterprise can function well only with a disciplined organizational structure. The organization allocates tasks and resources, establishes departments and divisions, and coordinates among them to determine the direction of the flow of power and the division of the business coherently and effectively to achieve the set goals. Through the organization, managers can translate plans into real and executive action through jobs and individuals, supporting them with the necessary technology and resources.

directing

directing is one of the most important stages of the management process, as it aims to issue orders and instructions and provide guidance to employees to show them how to carry out the work, by providing the atmosphere, leadership, and incentives that achieve the movement of individuals in the right direction to achieve the goals instead of dispersing human efforts in directions that limit the achievement of goals.

controlling

Controlling is not limited to simply matching what is implemented with what is planned, but seeks to ensure that what is being achieved is optimal, with the lowest cost, effort, and highest return. it examines the reasons and justifications for deviations and mistakes made to find ways and means to prevent their occurrence in the future. Thus, it can be said that controlling is a way to improve the performance level of the organization by following up and monitoring the level of performance and actual achievement and comparing this achievement with performance standards derived from the set goals, by discovering and enhancing positive points and discovering differences between actual and planned achievement, identifying the reasons for this, then taking corrective actions, and preventing the recurrence of deviations in the future.

What are managerial skills?

Naturally, you need many technical and intellectual skills to achieve the planned goals at all levels of the company, from the top management through middle management to the direct one, so managerial skills are the key to achieve the organization’s goals efficiently and effectively at all levels.

Management skills are divided into three basic types:-

Technical skills: the technical skills of the manager are embodied in the specialized aspects of knowledge and experience, and in the ability to apply those skills in the tasks assigned to him.

Human skills: those skills that help managers interact, work, and communicate effectively with people. It enables them to take advantage of the human potential in the organization and motivate employees to achieve better results.

Intellectual skills: these consist of the ability to achieve integration among different activities and the vision of the organization as a whole, the ability to analyze and diagnose problems and find innovative solutions to them, the ability to strategically plan and make decisions, and strive to achieve the overall goals of the organization.

It is worth noting that intellectual skills are needed at the top administrative levels more than others, and technical skills are becoming increasingly important at the lower administrative levels, unlike human skills, which are equal at all administrative levels in the organization.

Thus, managerial skills are a cornerstone for any manager even if their importance varies depending on his managerial level in the organizational structure, but they are one of the essential factors for achieving the organization’s goals.
